Editorial Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This policy explains how Loan Low Interest researches, writes, reviews and updates its content, and how we handle commercial relationships. Because our guides deal with money, we hold them to a high standard of accuracy and clarity. Everything on this site is for general information only and is not financial or legal advice.

Our Standards

Sources We Rely On

We use sources in this order of preference:

  1. Laws and regulator texts. For example, the Truth in Lending Act (Republic Act No. 3765), the Lending Company Regulation Act of 2007 (Republic Act No. 9474), the Financing Company Act of 1998 (Republic Act No. 8556), the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), and circulars and guidance from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the National Privacy Commission and the Credit Information Corporation.
  2. Provider documents. A provider's own published terms, help pages, disclosure statements and fee tables, for what that provider says about itself.
  3. Reputable reporting and legal commentary. Used to understand developments, and cross-checked against primary sources where possible. We treat commentary as secondary and do not rely on it alone for figures that matter.

We do not rely on anonymous reviews, forum posts or unsourced rate lists for facts about a provider.

How We Fact-Check

Before publishing, we check that numbers match their sources, that worked examples add up, that dates and thresholds are correct, and that legal references are described accurately and not overstated. Where sources conflict, we use the more cautious statement or explain the difference. Hypothetical examples are always labelled as hypothetical and never use a real lender's name.

How We Choose Providers for the Home Page Review

The review on our home page lists loan and credit providers for readers comparing options. We include a provider when we can check who operates it and what it publishes about interest, fees, amounts, terms, requirements and repayment. We describe each provider's published terms and note when a rate depends on the borrower, when a promotional rate applies only in some cases, or when a provider does not publish a rate at all.

The list is not a ranking by cost. We do not label any provider the cheapest or the lowest-interest unless comparable, current data supports it, because published rates use different methods that cannot be placed on one scale without a borrower's own numbers. The order reflects how clearly a provider publishes its costs and regulator details.

When We Remove a Provider

We remove or do not list a provider when we cannot confirm that it is authorized to lend, when regulator records show its certificate of authority has been cancelled or suspended, or when it presents itself as a lender but is actually a platform that only compares or refers offers. We do this regardless of popularity or any commercial relationship. We do not publish accusations. We state only what regulators' records show and what a provider publishes.

Advertising and Affiliate Links

Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you apply for a product through such a link, we may receive a commission, which does not change what you pay. The home page carries a disclosure of this. Our rules are:

Updates and Review Schedule

Rates, fees and regulations change. Each page shows a last updated date and is reviewed regularly. We review the provider review more often than the explanatory guides, and we update any page promptly when a rule changes, when a provider changes its published terms, or when a reader reports an error and we confirm it.

Why We Keep These Standards

A borrower who relies on a wrong figure can lose real money, so a small error on a loan page is not a small matter. We would rather publish less and be right than publish more and be uncertain. That is why you will sometimes see "not published" or "varies by offer" in our reviews instead of a number.

Corrections

If you believe a page contains an error, email admin@loanlowinterest.com or use the contact page with the page address, the statement concerned and, if possible, a link to the source. We check the point, correct the page if we confirm an error and update the last updated date.

Independence and Conflicts of Interest

We do not make loans, do not process applications and do not hold a stake in any provider we describe. When a relationship could reasonably be seen as affecting our content, we disclose it on the page concerned. Our guides are written by our editor, Marissa Dela Cruz, and follow this policy.

What Our Content Is Not

Our content is not financial, legal or tax advice, and it is not an offer or recommendation to borrow from any provider. For advice about your own situation, speak to a qualified professional. To learn how to check a lender, read how to verify a lending company in the Philippines. To learn how to read the cost of an offer, read loan interest and costs in the Philippines.
